At Westcliff we boast the best possible facilities for the full enjoyment of rugby football, both on and off the field.

If, on September 1st 2007, your child was in any school year between 1 and 7 (inclusive) and they would like to try rugby then please contact Ray Mills on 07920 180519 (evenings). Best time to bring any new players along would be the 2nd March when all teams are training at home.

New Players are welcome for all youth age groups.

Rounding off a fantastic season the Colts 7 asiders made a clean sweep of the opposition to become Essex 7s champions. With both the 15 aside and 7s trophies Westcliff Colts can rightly consider themselves to be the Under 19 team in Essex.
This is great achievement for the Colts and another great win for Westcliff.

Runners Up at Worthing 7s

The U17s were pipped at the post by a good Twickenham side in the final of the Worthing 7s. Despite playing the whole tournament with a squad of only 9 the lads powered into the final. They finally ran out of legs to lose to a late scor

U16s win Plate at Worthing 7s

The U16s fought to a hard earned victory in the Plate final at the Worthing 7s in April '08. The boys out muscled a speedy Hove team in the final.

Cup Success for the U15

In a hard fought match, excellently hosted by Rochford, the squad triumphed 17-5 over a Colchester squad rumoured to be unbeaten for the past four seasons. Playing up the hill in the first half, it was encouraging to see the boys not only reduce a far heavier pack to a virtual standstill but also to score the only three points of the half with a late penalty. The second half started with our lads easing off the pedal and allowing Colchester back into the game with a well worked try which thankfully went unconverted. The rest of the second half saw the resumption of normal service with Westcliff dominating the possession, particularly from line out ball, without finishing off some excellent moves. Nerves were getting a trifle fraught in our camp until two tries were scored in fairly rapid succession after some particularly fine work down the right wing. Converting both tries from tight angles proved to be the icing on the cake and scenes of jubilation from all concerned greeted the final whistle. An excellent match played with a high standard of sportmanship from both sides. It only remains to thank the quite substantial number of people who turned up to support and create the atmosphere on the day. Another trophy for the cabinet.
